Hey there, I wanted to check out your game, but all of the popups on the screen were placed off screen to the far left, so I only saw top right corner. I think dialogue box was also cut a bit from the bottom. I tried playing it blind but couldn't figure out what to do with stuff that I can pick up. If it helps, I was playing on 2160x1440 resolution

That does help, thanks! I didn't even know that was a resolution people used. I'm behind the times.

Very nice models and animation. The environment is quite pretty.

I could not figure out where to go to get the action of the game started. As I was jumping around, trying to access a new area, I got stuck in the collision (near the flashing purple lights) and was unable to escape.

I also got no sound. If you implemented sound, it wasn't working for me. If not, remember that it really helps immersion. A little bit of work on sound goes a long way.

Thanks for the feedback! I have fixed the geometry where I'm guessing you got stuck. If anyone else gets stuck anywhere, you can quit to the menu and continue game to return to the last checkpoint with all your progress saved.

Sadly there is no sound. I lost two days to camera bugs, so sound and music got cut.

Things I Like:

  • the level is beautiful
  • good 3D model designs

Things I Would Change:

  • level layout needs some “you can go this way” envronmental design
  • add SFX and music or environmental sounds

Broken Stuff:

  • input - lots of “ghost” inputs on the analog inputs - if I was to guess - using onPerform and not onCancel for them (or just reading them each frame)

Thanks for the feedback! I've tweaked some of the level design to hopefully guide the player a little better.

You're definitely right that something is up with the input, but I wasn't able to figure it out.

Beautiful stuff!

Painful installation. Didn't work in Itch-app (due to filename? not sure), and took forever to unpack.

It was hard for me to play it, because dialogs and information panels appeared outside of the screen, maybe would have worked in windowed mode?

It looks really good though, did you manage to make all of these assets this month?! That's crazy!

Cool idea with eating stuff to change shape.

All in all, too unfinished for me to rate really.

In next jam, try and make a shorter segment complete with audio and stuff before finishing one aspect of the full game. Feels like you put lots of effort into making stuff that I never saw because I couldn't handle the lack of sounds and ability to read information and play that far.

First time hearing about the Itch app, so naturally I haven't tested it there. Thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: I've now uploaded it with Butler, so it should work through the app. Thanks again for pointing that out to me.

The UI is meant to be multi-resolution. I tested with all the standard aspect ratios, and it worked fine. Could you let me know your aspect ratio so I can try to figure out why it's not showing up for you?

Could dual screen setup be the issue?
