That was fun! Like the other person said about the rocks, I walked into the green room and was like "Oh a nice plant!" Then it started shooting leaves at me lol TT_TT Everything want me deadddd... I thought it was cool that everything was pixel art (so pretty straight lines) but the room walls were all curvy, that is a cool effect!

Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun making enemies and the art!

I love that even the rocks were attacking me haha

Enjoyable game, nice and simple. Got caught on the walls a bit and I'm not sure if it was just me but I couldn't hear any sound. Very nice artwork

Thanks for the kind words! I am brand new to making games so the only sound is a background "song" which plays consistently from room to room, but its quiet and I haven't tested it on browsers other than chrome!

Love that character and world sprites!

I find fighting fire with (what looks like) fire funny. :)

I like curve-walled rooms. At first exits were confusing because they were wall-colored, so perhaps a clearer indication that it is leading to another room would be a nice visual improvement. There was an upgrade that said ammo increased, but nowhere does it say how to attack besides the melee weapon (nor did any key seem to work to fire any kind of projectiles). An ability to fend off enemy projectiles would be nice/add to have because there are no ways to defend from them besides the dodging (which is not an option if going to attack the enemy which fires them).

Boss fights were surprisingly intense for something so simple. :)

I see that this is still a work in progress (even the yellow tapes indicate so), but even so, well done so far. :)

Thanks for your feedback! There are a lot of hidden rooms and secret areas, two of which lead to a ranged weapon, but it is pretty hard to find! If you want to keep looking for this upgrade, it is the furthest right area through some hidden walls. The ranged weapon is also protected by a rather difficult (and I think fun) boss!

I like the curved wall choice, which is less common in this kind of game. The character design is great. The collision box for the player is a little too big, making it almost impossible to attack without hurting yourself. Sometimes, you just get cornered by enemies and have no way to get out. Fast respawns and many healing item drops make it a little better.  But still, good job.

Nice game! You have the solid beginnings of a Zelda like Metroidvania here. It was enjoyable & challenging. I couldn't figure out how to progress past the first Health & Ammo upgrades. If you continue to update the game, I suggest adding SFX as they would greatly enhance the game.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! The SFX are definitely the bit I find the hardest but I agree that it would be really helpful to build atmosphere!
