Straightforward mechanics, right to the point story/setting. And a very open interpretation on how to play. It might turn apocalyptic, but that doesn't mean it can't be Fallout funny! Shawn of the Dead, maybe? And the 8 minute frantic collection of thoughts and belongings is great as well. Very good!
Good job!
Is the last paragraph an epilogue that the GM narrates? Or do the players keep playing in the dark?
Just to be pedantic here. I love the 8 minutes period (time for sunlight to reach earth) at first, but then I realise you would need faster than light communication for someone to detect the sun's death and to send the players a signal.
I love the 8 minute period that kicks off the game and is different afterwards. Feels like the beginning of Dawn of the Dead, where the terror of how bad things truly are start to quickly sink in. Well done.
Accidentally left in an artifact of a previous version, Dexterity was changed to Knack, and Strength was changed to Brawn. It still says Strength and Dexterity in the example given.
I like your approach. I'll let you know how the play test goes!
