this is pretty cool imo. Definitely for a niche audience but I could see the right people really digging this game. like others said, doesn't use the theme, but it's a solid game I think.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa there. I didn't start playing a game in order to write an essay. I certainly don't mind having a discussion, but, uh, you know, school was over for me a number of years ago. I like the thought that went into this, however, I will have to audit this clas-- er, pass on the writing portion of this game.
Interesting idea! I like exploring the idea of using an RPG to explore a more mundane setting. But it seems a bit like an essay writing exercise to me.
Just a bit? That mechanic is so prominent I wouldn't be offended if someone called it a homework simulator.

Really interesting thing to do with friends, but IMO pretty divorced from the theme and not really much of an RPG.

I mentioned on the game page that I failed to incorporate the theme (I had a pretty bad idea about working in the sunlessness of your average seminar room and trashed it shortly after) and it just kind of developed in this direction. I still met the basic ruleset in my opinion and didn't want to drop out, so I posted the result nonetheless. I kind of like the idea that the role one plays will be fixed to "student with mindset x" and expresses itself through writing and research rather than the usual methods, but I'm convinced that won't be everybody's cup of tea.
