Nice game, I felt like the length was just right. I really like the step counter as an optional scoring mechanic.
My only suggestion is that it would be even better with sound effects.
Thanks!
I can try to make some sound effects in the post-jam version which can be found at https://ev3r4.itch.io/telmaze-mj-2020-post-jam
EDIT: Optional sound effects were added in version 0.1.2.
so cool! though i got some problems -
the door sprite was very similar to the normal brick sprite, which got confusing, and i didn't notice in the beginning.
remembering where was teleporters and rooms was really hard ( or maybe it was intentional ).
i feel like the step counter is really unique and interesting, but if you get into a room and aren't sure what to do in it, that's 50 more steps. and, to me at least, that happend A LOT!
but the music is really cute and old school like, which i really enjoyed, and the idea of collecting keys to unlock doors to levers for teleporters is very cool and challenging!
overall, i think that this game is very good, even outside of the game jam category.
Thanks!
I will put a hint in the game description. Maybe the sprite will get updated in the post-jam version.
That was intentional, as the game takes place in a maze where remembering the path is essentially the main part of the gameplay.
The step counter is for players that play the game again after the first playthrough and is like a score.
Nice to hear that you think it’s cool (:
I got an error on line 119
