Use of the limitation
At first the timer does not matter that much in the game's difficulty, but as you progress and the level restarts in a faster speed it becomes more challenging to beat it within time.

I like this, haven't played a shooter of this type in ages, it's a nice throwback. A minor gripe I have is that the flash when firing the gun can get a bit too much and interfere with the aim, perhaps you should make only the background flash instead so that the player can still see the enemies coming.
