The art is really great, I especially like the boat and the water. Hunting for treasure was also pretty fun.

The starter clip is just great! I professionally completed the game and I liked it :D

More shall be coming for the Major Jam! Stay tunned!

Cool game, nice art, I think choosing the colors from the mini jam logo works very good on your game.

Developer

Thank you, working with just 5 colors was challenging but also a lot of fun!

Simple yet fun game, I could actually feel like on adventure here :D

Developer

That is such a joy to hear! I took a lot of inspiration from Zelda 1 and that's just how I feel in that game, so I guess this is a major win!

LMAO, nice! Great to see that pirates face the same hand sanitizer shortages like us mortals. Simple but fun! Love the fact that you matched the palette to the MiniJam palette for this week. Definitely a lot of possible ways to expand on it too with puzzle elements maybe?

Developer

I feel hand sanitizer shortages are a global issue at this point, there's even an hand sanitizer black market of sorts starting to breed in my neighborhood! Sure pirates must be behind that.

Mini Jam palettes are always great, I'm very glad I decided to use it.

Puzzles and enemies were on my mind from the beginning, but couldn't make time for it during the jam. It's a likely update!

The character design is very cute. I tried to dig around to see if I could find other things aside from the treasures, maybe that would be fun!

I had more ideas for treasures and maps, but I didn't thought about adding more stuff, that's an interesting idea. What were you expecting to find?
Also, I'm really glad you liked the character! A friend of mine (@melidemelia on Twitter and @jojobas on Instagram, check out her stuff!) sent me this awesome concept after she read my design document:

I'm not sure what was I expecting 🤔 Maybe a message in a bottle, some pirate things (like swords or old clothes) or even trash hahaha.

She's so cool. I followed her asap (I was her 1000 follower on IG ❤️❤️). I love pirates so much. That's a lovely concept art!

Fun story and I enjoyed the art.  There wasn't enough to do in my opinion.

Developer

Your compliment to the art and narrative really means a lot to me, I don't consider myself much of an artist, but I worked hard on this one.

Also, do you mean as in more treasures and maps to find or other stuff to do besides the treasure hunting? I have some more ideas for maps and treasures, but I'm not sure what else I could add, so if you had any ideas please share!

Maybe minesweeper type gameplay where there might be mines or trick maps so you need to determine the correct maps.

neat! i played i won... was a bit disappointed with boat not facing up and down though

Developer

did you not feel the same about the player? did it to save time/effort but guess I kinda liked the way it turned out tbh
