Fun game! It would be nice to have some instructions in game, it took a second to realize how I move around. Platforming is pretty solid, especially in first person (I like how you can sorta "stop" mid air!)

Really cool game - I always got glitched either into the floor or into a corner right before the boss.
I got really good at getting there in under 2 minutes 30 seconds tho, hehe.

Just a single checkpoint somewhere would've made it so much more enjoyable.

Some sounds would've been nice as well, but honestly I enjoy silence more than obnoxious sound-effects.

Well done - was actually really fun to play (and try to speedrun) except the glitching into walls and dying to the boss through the ceiling part. Other that that I enjoyed it a lot.

Yes the collision is a bit problematic sometimes. I wrote it all myself (including the game engine, although I didn't write that during the jam), and I didn't have the time to polish it much.

In regards to speedrunning, there is actually a game-breaking glitch involving the movable platforms that I found after submitting the game, that kinda ruins speedrunning it for me (I can consistently get sub 1:30 using it):

Thanks for playing is, I hope you had fun even though the game is a bit rough around the edges

Oh no, I didn't find that bug :(
I was actually recording myself speedrunning it, because it was a lot of fun, haha - even tho it is very rough.

considering that it is your own engine makes it really impressive!

Developer

When I find some time in a couple days, I will fix all those collision bugs. At the moment I'm using point v. AABB for collision because it's easy to implement, but i'll switch it to sphere v. AABB. That should  pretty much eliminate all the collision troubles. I'll also add a speedrunnning mode with integrated timer, so if you want to, you can check in on the game in a week or so and try to get a world record or two :P

I can't seem to figure out how to progress after the first spell (and jumping up just happened at random once, I can't get back up there). Am I missing something?

Developer (1 edit)

You can break the wall in that room using the spell. Then you can go up the stairs and progress.

If you cant get up to the room anymore (not quite sure where you are stuck) then just know that the enemies on the layer shoot you, and when you get hit, you get shot up

I tried breaking that wall, didn't do anything, is there a special way to break it or a spot I have to aim at? I'd like to see what's up there :P

Developer

year the part that looks broken

Submitted

Didn't work, I fired like 50 shots at it :(

Developer(+1)

Hmm sorry i don't know whats wrong there

Developer

I made a version where that wall is already broken. You can try that if you want

Submitted

Ok, figured it out, but then got launched up for no reason and stuck in the ceiling :P

It's a lot of fun, though, even with the weird collision, I think there's something there for sure ^^

Nice game !
I've really enjoyed playing it!
The UI sometimes clip with the walls.
The player slide from the moving platforms, it's really challenging.
