The controls, pacing, learning curve, visuals, music, it’s all so comfortable. The getting surrounded mechanic is an awesome idea and tied in well into the whole thing. This game is a hidden gem.
Very interesting gameplay—I especially liked that only enemies can destroy stuck enemy aircraft. It’s polished, engaging, and well-designed!
The visual style and the sound design are very appealing. However, the HUD - especially the dash ui - takes a lot of space on my screen (3440x1440) so that I can't see the bottom left corner which makes the game very hard for me.
Here is a screenshot of the problem for me:
Adding direct controls with the arrow keys (up meaning going forward) + space would increase the playability. Additionally, polishing the game by adding more effects like trails, screenshake, flame bursts at the ships thrusters would take it to another level.
Non the less, very nice submission - just a bit too hard for me. :)
BTW: the nice little cutscenes are great!
Thank you very much! Sorry about the UI bug. I kinda rushed the HUD, so I forget to make it work properly with different resolutions. I was only focused on the 1920x1080 😅
I love the little cutscene that plays when you lose. Especially the way the music cuts out completely, haha
Thanks! I really wanted a moment that the player would feel.
