Neat game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Really liked the visuals, and the music was great! I just wasn't feeling much of a connection between the two, which is something I'd hope for in a music game. The 80s aesthetic was great though, and the graphics reminded me of one of my favourite arcade classics, Atari's Hard Driving. :)

Great work. I wish you could have gotten a musician on the team! Music doesn't sync up to when the player goes through the cones perfectly. Sometimes the car goes through the floor! :)

Loved the music, the controls just feel really off, likely because of the fact that cars don't tend to strafe like that ;) Once I got over the weird disconnect I was feeling with the motion, it was a pretty relaxing game, although there were a few times, generally on slopes, where cones and walls appeared sunk into the ground or were too close to the peak of the hill to avoid.

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:

Awesome, thanks so much! I'll check it out when I have a moment.

Hey, good job on this little adventure!  I think the cones could use a bit of clarity between the groups.  Maybe just something to set them apart when they're dense stacked.  Or something tying the two cones in the pair together for clear visuals.  Other than that... The car going around some corners was pretty jarring, so if that can be smoothed out in anyway, that would be excellent!

Overall, great work!

Appreciate the a.e.s.t.h.e.t.i.c and the synthwave (its my jam!), but the controls feel a little janky. Hitting the barriers made the car uncontrollable for a bit which was jarring. The automatic turning at the bends also feels off. Also, the car model is sometimes hard to make out against the road. With a bit of juicing this could be really fun for relaxing to a synthwave tune!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I completely agree that the car visibility is a big problem and I'm working on a fix for it. I'll be sending out updates throughout this week, so come on back in a few days and try again.

Awesome theme and aesthetic! At the start I was avoiding the 'dangerous' spikes lol. A really nice relaxing game.

That's pretty nice! I like the visuals and global atmosphere. The syncing is really great, although the music sometimes seemed to get out of sync. Maybe it's my browser. Anyway, really good work!

Developer

Thanks man, really glad you like it!

Nice music graphics! Overall I enjoyed the game but whenever the track would turn I found it jarring and difficult to control my car to where I wanted until the turn was complete.

Developer (1 edit)

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'm currently working on a fix for the jitteryness with the player movement, so check back later this weekend.

Edit: jitteriness has been fixed. Give me a shout if you find other things still aren't working.

The concept was very cool, kind of like an Audiosurf where you're a car. The music was very nice and helped with the surreal feel of cruising on this otherworldly highway.

The car movement seemed glitchy at times(especially on the edge), which I feel kills the smooth feel of the music.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Other people had also commented on the glitchiness of the car movement, so I've fixed that in this latest build and boy does it make a difference. More updates will be coming over the next few days, so stay tuned.

I liked how those yellow cones were releasing particles on beats! However, car "footprints" were a bit glitchy
