Neat music! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)
The UI is a bit confusing. I played a bunch of tracks before realising I had to select several. And the creation tool itself is not very practical.
Nonetheless, this is an impressive tool! The idea of creating several tracks to then combine them is pretty cool. Maybe the demo tracks could have an higher BPM, because they are kinda slow actually. But the engine of the game and the tools it provides are pretty solid. Good work!
A creation tool ? No tutorial ? Why ?
Thanks for the comment. We absolutely plan to do a detailed tutorial, but ran out of time for the Game Jam. We are doing a major overhaul of the whole game, so keep an eye out and play the next versions!
Hi, it is a cool idea to let the users create their songs!
Overall good game/mixer, however I'd add some kind of graphic effect after the note hit.
Hey! Thank you for the comment. We had every intention on getting a feedback system in place, but ran out of time. We are working on this further and this will definitely be a feature in the upcoming versions.
Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:
Ok, so I have a feeling that you spent way to long creating a creation tool and not a game! But I'm still really impressed! This is the issue the unity editors had and why Unity came to be. because they created the system to make their games and realized they made engines better than games. NOT SAYING your game is bad but holy cow, you made a beat game engine!
Really cool, I think the base tracks are a bit basic but the fact that you made this whole thing is utterly impressive!
Great job!
Hey! Thanks for playing and you may be right about the time spent. We wanted to innovate on the rhythm based games out there by letting you create your own songs. The editor took a lot longer to prototype than originally scoped, so that was fun and cut into the time for the actual game. We liked the idea enough that we would like to continue, so keep an eye out for updates.
