I want this game To update
I LOVE YOUR GAMEEE AND I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHEN IS THE NEXT SONGS COMEING OUT!!!???
Hey thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you signed up to be a playtester, you should have gotten your key for the new levels already (search for "Lo-Fi Room" in your inbox). If you haven't signed up yet, you can do that: here and you'll be able to try a version with 12 levels total. I'm going to send those keys out at the end of this week, so if you haven't already make sure you sign up before that~
A lofi game? I have played some kind of 'band' games like "Guitar Heroes". But lofi, this one is new. Nice concept. Great job!
Thank you :)
Challenging game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you鈥檇 like to take a look
Thanks for the video Jupiter :)
Music games are really hard to nail and this game is in my opinion one of the few ones that does not throw a random curve ball just to be challenging (for example the dance floor is lava uses quarter beats unless it feels like it). There's a discrepancy between what you play and what the melody will be but I don't think it's too much of a bother.
Like others have said turning your keyboard or monitor sideways is the best way to play. All in all a really enjoyable game with a good atmosphere. And I crave more because I beat it in a few minutes...
Hey thanks, so much for playing the game and your kind feedback :) It is much appreciated! I'm working on polishing the game a little more (I rotated the board, as you mentioned having to turn the keyboard/ monitor sideways is not ideal), once the core loop is a little better I'll look to add more content :)
Really love the idea of this one! Music and visuals are great too.
Would like for some kind of small feedback when you hover over an interactable item (e.g. slightly scaling up the item size) and so the room feels more alive (and if you expanded it further, some little animations e.g. when you click on the cat). Also, pretty hard to hit the first note in the sequence and some of the timing is slightly off, but I'm sure you know that.
I can definitely see this idea being expanded further with more levels!
Thanks for the feedback Xavier :) I also think the hidden object part of the game could do with expansion. I'll look into improving the first note thing, I think that's a common problem and quite frustrating as if you miss it you have to wait until it loops round to do have a chance of completing it. Also I'll work on getting the timing to feel tighter.
Aww, this game is just lovely! The combination of the hidden object mechanics with the beat creation once you've found each one is genius. The art style is wonderful, and the finished loop is great too, so chill! If this had been a team of three or four people I'd be impressed enough, but for one person to do the art, dev and music in a couple of weeks blows me away.
A minor point, unfortunately the audio didn't loop at quite the right point for me, which spoilt the effect slightly. I didn't notice it during the game particularly, but once I'd completed the whole thing it was very noticeable. Maybe that only happened because I was playing in browser?
Regardless, this was one of my favourite things in the jam! I only wish it was longer. I could see this working beautifully as a series of these tableaux, all linked with some kind of storyline, and perhaps with some other mechanics interspersed. That is a game I would pay good money for!
Hi, thanks for playing and your kind feedback! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
I'll look into the bug you mentioned with the break in the music loop. I believe its similar in both the desktop and browser versions so I'll try and figure out what's causing that.
I like the idea of a longer game with several scenes linked together. I also had something similar in mind. I'm currently trying to polish the gameplay loop a bit more, I think it still a bit difficult/unintuitive. But after that I'll look into expanding the content.
Thanks again for the feedback :)
Really too hard
Hi, thanks for trying the game and the feedback. I'll look into ways to decrease the difficulty :)
Hi, I made a couple of changes that should make the game a little less hard. I was wondering, if you have time, whether you could give the game another go and see what you think of the difficulty now please? Thanks :)
I love the art style and the music, but it is really hard... maybe you should make the note vertical instead of horizontal so that I can align my fingers more easily
Hi, thanks for playing the game and the feedback. :) I didn't realize quite how hard the game could be. I also noticed that people particularly struggled mapping the horizontal notes to the keys, so I'll try vertical alignment and see if that helps :)
Hi, I've made a couple of changes that should make the game a little easier. If you have could you please try the game again and see what you think of the difficulty now?
Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:
Hi thanks so much for doing a playthrough on camera! It was great to see someone play the game! Thanks for letting me know you had a problem with the start note bug and pointing out the one in the bass track. I've made a fix to both of these and updated the file :)
Neat little game. The bug that you mentioned was a bit annoying for sure. There was another in the bass that I experienced when the two notes on q were very close together, I had to spam to get both lit up for some reason. Other than that, pretty cool and simple!
Great work!
This game is awesome!!! I like the overlaying musical themes, the visuals, the mood in the room, and all the details to explore. This game is so good! Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing :)
Pretty good game!
Although I had to rotate my monitor by 90 degrees to beat some of these instruments :D
Nice graphics and also component music created by the player.
Yeah, art style is cool.
Thanks for the feedback :)
