DEAD HEADS (revised jam project)

Hello again! It's been a few days since my first devlog and i've changed my mind on my project (HEAL 馃攩 QUEST)  which means it definitely won't be done by the end of the jam, BUT! that's not entirely a bad thing!

I was inspired to change it for two reasons: I was already getting bored of the idea and because the Indie Game Making Contest had returned after several years and it's contest theme (Rebirth/Resurrection) inspired me to do a whole different concept for my game.

DEAD HEADS is an RPG about a trio of young thieves and adopted siblings who are given a book that supposedly possesses the ability to heal all ailments no matter how severe. Immediately testing it out on some roadkill results in them accidentally reviving a long dead warrior buried deep beneath the road  and from there all manner of chaos and mayhem ensues.

Because I had to restart all my progress I only have some concept doodles to show today (again...馃槄):

These are the main three protagonists: Jewel a saluki type beastling (canine beastman) and the oldest of the three who leads them in their thefts, Sam a Pumpkin Head and the middle sibling, and Bombina the baby of the group and a fire bellied toad witch who was actually the one to be given the book in the first place.

I haven't figured out how I wanted their zombie buddy to look yet but gameplay wise I know I want him to be a Berserker/Tank mix who acts as the party's main powerhouse but at the caveat of him eventually running out of energy and having to spend several turns on "rest mode" until he can act again as well as an OP Berserk state he can be put in that would immediately put him in rest mode afterwards but would have him deal massive damage beforehand.

That's all for now!
