You play as a character named Dominic (Dom) and Dom is a street orphan that never knew his parents and he grew up in the streets of (town I haven't named yet) in (a wold I haven't named yet I have trouble naming things) and at the time of the game he is 13 years old and it is a harsh winter but Dom doesn't have a coat so you have to go on an adventure which takes you to many different places in (the world I have yet to name) to find a coat.

This idea sounds good but remember that you only have 14 days.

i like that the narrative premise is very straightforward! maybe it would be helpful to outline a handful of scenes you plan to tackle for the jam? i'm wishing you luck with the game jam!

So I am making the game in rpg maker mv so I used the character maker to make a character but my character who had black hair was showing in game having blonde hair so I spent probably an hour and a half trying to fix that but I eventually fixed the problem.

Host

omg that sounds really frustrating. do you have a screenshot of them or any maps to share?

ohhhh nice! this definitely feels like an inhabited town. i'm curious to see how it'll look populated with characters!

I will upload a screenshot when I finish populating the world  but I want to finish making all the towns first but I think I am just going to have 2 towns so I should be done soon but the most time consuming part is the interiors of the houses and shops. Also do you think that I over did the  number of graves in the cemetery.

Host

oh yeah interiors can be pretty time consuming for sure. and honestly i think that's a decent number! i would expect that for a town.

I finally picked a name!

I also decided that the game idea has evolved so much since I stated the Jam that I want the game to be so much more than I originally planed I will make my original plan as a demo to introduce the main character and the world he lives in.

that's cool to hear! it might be a good idea to outline the events of the demo so you can really focus in on what matters. i think it'd be cool to add some narrative hooks that you can expand on in the full game though such as--maybe there's something dark and mysterious we don't know yet about the character's backstory--or maybe we meet someone who is important to them or perhaps a villain? i think having these seeds for the larger world or narrative planted in the demo will really make people want to play the full game!
