We played this game yesterday with my D&D group and we had a real blast! We had a little ken of salvagers and the party had to convince a human engineer to help them build a water supply for the community, which somehow involved setting up a date between the grumpy guard at the local theater and a nervous shopkeeper assistant. One of the players commented that "he didn't remember when he last laughed so hard".
The fact that all the playbooks are based on the D&D classes also made it really easy to jump into. The game does require a bit of improvisation to make sense of the random story elements it throws at you (or just accept that life doesn't always make sense, which is what we did).
We had one minor quibble with the focus mechanic, which is that it's difficult to "force" a joke or pun when you need it. If I'd change one thing to the rules, it's what happens when you spend the focus: instead of putting it back in the center, it would be nice if you could just give it to another player so it's a bit easier to set up teamwork combos.
All in all, this game is an excellent mix of honestly trying to help out your community of goblins and lighthearted sillyness, and I recommend it highly if you're looking for an evening of unabashed fun.
I picked up this game in the Solo But Not Alone 4 bundle. I really enjoyed playing it; the combination of the journaling aspect with the prompts and the almost tactical nature of the system failures with the cards worked well. The details of how some of the card mechanics worked were a bit muddled (specifically dealing with shuffling in discards), but I figured it out after a couple rounds.
