  • I'll be real honest I did not notice the tutorial until my third try! I would advise starting the player facing the blackboard rather than the computer, to make sure they can't miss the controls. Loved the concept! Very creative use of the enemy to also connect the pieces together into the ultimate pile of trash. Colorful assets and good controls all around made for a fun gameplay experience throughout, and even losing didn't feel too bad. You should draw more attention to the life being drained when in contact with the slime monster, either by adding a HUD effect of flashing red, or making the hearts flash themselves. A sound that is more distinct from the jumping grunts could also be good in this effect, and ensure the player is never confused as to why they died. The assets were all working well together, very cohesive in appearance, texture and colors which made for a very connected world. Really loved that the weapon was a stapler on a stick. The game could truly be released on a platform like itch or steam and fit right in outside of the jam! It's a fun concept with strong gameplay that utilizes verticality well, and watching the slime monster gain ground was amazing! Very solid animations and despite the simple narrative, it was a good concept to be thrown into. Simple AND efficient storytelling through gameplay, rather than separate.

Really nice art. Unfortunately the Unity WebGL player has an issue either with Firefox, Linux (tried on Ubuntu, Debian, and Arch) or all of the above, in which the game constantly mouses downward (albeit at a slow & steady pace). Have seen this with several games in the jam. Very pretty game!

Took a bit of time to understand how the game works, but once I did it was pretty fun. The art is pleasant to look at. It's incredible to see how much you can do in a week with 3 developers
