- Hey, I really enjoyed playing this game, probably my favourite of the jam! I like the amount of complexity you've managed to add into the game while still being simple enough to just pick up and play, I really enjoyed playing it, thank you so much ! Maybe it could have a bit of story or some long term goals that would keep the player there for the long run if that makes sense ?
- # **Engaging Gameplay 2/5** **Pros** - Felt like a real game. **Cons** - Was confused what was happening. (might because I don't play turn based games) I think an optional tutorial may of been needed instead of just an info menu, since it assumed that people were used to the genre. - The info sections could've been made more clearer and used less lore bits. (maybe have lore as smaller text in italics like a caption?) - Some aspects didn't feel clear such as: - Whether you're hovering over an enemy or not. (add a highlight similar to hovering over attacks would've worked) - If you could change your attacks after selecting one. - Taking damage whenever you attack. (add sound effects and damage numbers) - Who's turn was the first and last. (add numbers indicating turn order) - How much damage armour absorbs. (add numbers indicating defence) - Unclear when bleeding is applied. (status effect icon) - Thought the time taken for characters to walk between each other was unnecessary. - Felt that I should be allowed to hover over inactive party members to see what their attacks can do. - Confused to why there were two buttons on the top left and right that did the exact same thing. # **Art 3/5** **Pros** - Liked how the characters bounced around like the characters in Kindergarten - Everything felt quite lively. - Art style felt rather cohesive despite using both pixel art and more standard art. **Cons** - Could've used particle effects. - Some UI animations felt lacking like hovering over the info menus(?), hovering over recruits, continue button, exit buttons and page next buttons. - Sprites sometimes overlapped in unintended ways like the word "Level" and the level number. There's also the case of characters appearing a layer over each other even though it feels that they shouldn't. - A background would've been nice. # **Sound 1/5** **Pros** - The background music loop wasn't too distracting. **Cons** - No sound effects used. # **Idea 4/5** Quite liked the idea of taking damage to deal damage though I feel as if this could've been made more clear during gameplay. # **Worldbuilding 3/5** It seemed to have some worldbuilding that was hinted in the info menus. Implied something about a Crimson King and a Lord of Light which is more characters than the other entries.
- The overall gameplay was really smooth and animations are really nice. I feel like there could have been more feedback for the player as it felt like I wasn't hitting anything and had to look at the health bar again and again. Otherwise it is a well rounded game.

Very well executed and well animated. I love the theme and the recruitment system but I feel like you could have implement the theme a bit better. A great game but it could use a bit of balancing.
