Really cute and cozy experience that I finished a few days ago, I'm still thinking about it now so you must've done something right. Had to run back and write a review!

An adorable visual novel, without a doubt. My favorite aspect is the art style, which is what caught my attention in the first place. I think the characters have really nice designs that fit the theme. The backgrounds were lovely and gave me a cutesy storybook feel. The GUI was really nice and I loved the overall rural aesthetic.

My main criticism is that the dialogue felt repetitive at times. Specifically whenever Cali or Maple would gush about their feelings for one another. Cali would keep telling Maple how wonderful she is, but downplay his own personality traits and accomplishments. Maple would repeatedly tell him to stop, but then pretty much do the same thing to herself. Whenever you have characters constantly repeating the same phrases over and over again in dialogue where nothing else is really happening, it basically puts the story on pause. Especially in a kinetic visual novel when there's nothing else for the player to focus on, it really stands out and slows down the story's overall pacing. I feel a lot of the dialogue could be cut or at least condensed without any essential information being lost.

Additionally, while I think the characters look adorable and their relationship is sweet, I felt their personalities were too dependent on one another which made it difficult for me to like or connect with either of them on an individual level. I think the story is too hyper-fixated on the relationship, that they don't really get to shine as stand-alone characters. They seem to be at a point in their lives where they're still trying to figure out who they are and they don't really seem to have an answer by the story's end, which could also be part of the issue. Cali and Maple obviously genuinely like, care, and think highly of one another which is sweet, but their lives shouldn't entirely revolve around each other. I would've liked to see a little more depth and/or growth in terms of character outside of their relationship.

However I was still able to enjoy the heartfelt love story and all the adorable art nevertheless and would love to see more in the future! ^_^

For a game that has one solo storywriter, programmer and artist, this game is really great in quality.
