this concept fleshed out to some sort of online art gallery thing has a lot of potential.

Check out my review of your game at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

When in which video did you review it?

Thank you and thanks for taking the time reviewing my game! It was super fun to hear and looks like you had some fun playing it! And I'm glad you totally hated the music! :D

Developer

Is it okay if I clip your review of my game and upload it to my YouTube channel? :)

completely fine

Developer (1 edit)

I hope you're okay with me turning it into a meme! Just tell me if you want to take it down, because I edited it to make it look funny and out of context

Submitted

I mean I guess that's fine, but you left out anything positive I said. Just don't try to make out like I just dump on stuff without any constructive comments.

Developer (2 edits)

Yes exactly, I just thought the negatives were more fun. I'm written more clearly in the description and the title now that this isn't a fair depiction of you and your stream.

"This is a joke edit, most things the streamer said was positive and constructive, I just thought it was hilarious how much he hated the music (mostly because I consider music to be my strong part). The streamer is ScalphaMission (https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission) and he takes the time to review a lot of game jam games, so please appreciate that effort! The whole clip where he plays my game is from 50:30 in this stream VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission/v/1226113505?sr=a&t=3057s"

thanks. I'm sorry if I was too hard on the music

Developer

No problems! I guess it's just our different taste.

Loved it very unique and silly! 500K for my destruction 8)

Thank you happx for playing! 500K? That's insane! It should be worth MUCH MORE!

Must say that what you created really is unique and creative, I could never reached the finish though. It was or to simple or I destroyed to much forest. I don't know how you come up with ideas like creating art with a burning skateboard, but well done!

Developer

Disappointing the art dealers can also be considered a win! I come up with these ideas just by refusing to develop solid ideas and going with whatever pops up in my head.

Submitted(+1)

Hahah thats true, it really depends on what you want you want to achieve ;)

This is one of the more unique concepts I've seen so far in this jam! I find the idea of art snobs willing to accept environmental damage for the sake of art to be more realistic than it should be. The only thing I really would've wanted was a bigger canvas...I'm not the most mature person, and wanted to draw inappropriate things. Anywho, very well done!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the kind words! I played your game too and liked it, I thought I commented but apparently I didn't. :)

The 20x15 canvas forces you to be creative! You can absolutely draw cocks and balls in this game. But the easiest thing to draw and still make look good is a bird, I've figured out. Be sure to send me if you create anything inappropriate!

My drawings came out a little too boxy for my taste, but I'll keep at it! Thanks for playing mine too!

First off, huge congratulations for reaching the finish line and submitting something that you worked on solo. That is impressive and you should be proud of yourself!

I can tell you are a musician, the music stuck out to me for its high quality. Besides the music, my other favorite part of the game was the quirky theme and creative originality. This reminded me of a party game, the formula is superb - however nothing is really challenging the player during the tree burning sequence. I think if you added more tricks/obstacles/twists to it - you made something extremely fun.

Thank you Knitwit Studios! I was pretty confident I could finish, so it's nice to know I can trust my gut feeling when it comes to project management. And I'm glad you like the music!

The challenge of the game is to figure out what makes the art dealers happy, which isn't shown in the gameplay but in the "ending". So the challenge is to think and analyse what they say about your artwork (and in my opinion it's as fun to make them disappointed or unimpressed as it is to make them happy, so I'm not sure what the real goal of the game is). And if you want more challenge, there's a special dialogue that I'm not even sure is possible to get within 30 seconds, where the art dealers get extremely happy.

Edit: apparently my habit of over-editing comments gets shown to everyone here. so please enjoy this well-edited comment
