I think I have figured it out... So you start by placing obstacles on the board, not touching each other, so there is one block on each horizontal and vertical line of the L-shaped track, kinda like Sudoku rules.
Then each turn you place another block (2x1 this time) somewhere on the board or move a block that has already been placed.
Then both players pick a direction and move both their races as far as they can until they hit something.
Is that right?
That is exactly right!
I guess I had better figure out how to upload a dev log or something with images to demonstrate what I'm talking about in the rules, since it seems like some people are having trouble understanding how the game works.
I think examples would be great in helping people to visually understand how the game is played. The game itself is actually very simple and quite clever, but the rules layout makes it seem a little more complicated than it really is. Also, the bottom edge seems like it should say 'starting edge', which is an aspect that probably confused some readers. But overall it's a cool concept and seems like it could make for some quick cut-throat gameplay.
Another reader lost here. Is this some kind of rush hour race game?
This is exceptionally simple, and does a wonderful job of meeting the criteria. Granted, I'm reasonably confident that one of the two ending edges should have been a starting edge given the rest of the rules, but eh.
Oops! Yes, one the ending edges should be a starting edge. I had originally meant the bottom edge to be the starting edge, but I don't think it actually matters which is which.
I will be honest, I have read the rules twice, but I can not figure out how this is to be played, or how you would 'win'. Can you make a video or some pictures?
Seconding this, it's hard to judge since I don't "get" it.
