Description
Genre is somewhere along the lines of indie sci-fi film score type of feel. I wrote everything you hear using mainly my piano and playing all the parts and then choosing different sounds like pads, a kalimba, strings and then programming my own drums. I think my favourite part was trying to figure out how to rhythmically make everything sit because the main piano riff that comes in at right about 1:49 isn't in a usual time signature that I work with regularly so it was fun to mess about with the drums and see where the kick snare and percussion should lie. That, in and of itself, taught me something cause I stepped out of my usual comfort zone in that regard. The original Oxenfree soundtrack is wonderful and with Oxenfree 2 being official, it felt right the dive into creating my own original composition inspired by this awesome game and equally awesome soundtrack.
