you had a bigger idea for the game originally but ran outta time?
Yuuuup.
I couldn't seem to do anything with the pieces of the paintings I collected, and they didn't appear in my inventory. Is something supposed to happen with them?
I liked the artstyle for the people - very Paint-y!

As for the pieces of the painting: each room has a wall with a frame in the middle of it. Interact with the middle part of the frame to put the picture on the wall. Do this in each of the 3 rooms, and you win!
I misread the deadline for submission, so I uploaded an unpolished version of the game. I will be publishing a more-complete version next week, in case you're interested in seeing what I had originally envisioned. 🙂

Aha, I've managed to do it now - I didn't realise there was a separate "interact" button. It might be a good idea to add some instructions to your game's page so that people won't get stuck!
good point on the controls, ive played a bunch of rpgmaker games in the past so i just naturally knew the controls myself but its something thats easy to forget about
