Yes
Summarise your game!
Yew is from a story originally created for a TTRPG. Frisbi grew up in the horrid city of Rogal. She was abused as a child and was often locked in the cellar of her parents' shop, leaving her to follow the lead of the city rats.
She became a druid of sorts. In this game, Frisbi cannot make it out of the cellar to gather food. Yew, her best friend, must help her. Frisbi is worried for Yew, so she gives him a "protection" spell. It is actually a plague, but will definitely keep the humans from hurting Yew.
Frisbi and Yew both know the spell will hurt people. Frisbi only cares about Yew's wellbeing though. Yew has very little choice in the matter.
Yew is the weapon.
sorry, but yew was named long before this game jam, so we are all stuck with the pun.
GAMEPLAY:
use WASD to move. Picking up gross food items will make your stink radius grow. Try not to kill all of the city's people.
FUTURE:
Additional foods, which shrink your infection radius, make Yew grow, etc.
Much more art, as art is my main profession.
Pop-up dialog boxes with snippets from the lives of the NPCs.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Yew is a Plague Rat, intentionally infected with a deadly disease by his best friend. City animals, like the rats, are immune, but humanoids are not. Frisbi's goals are a bit unclear, but she knows what the plague will do to humanity.
You play as Yew, an unwilling weapon.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?

I like being a rat! Interesting Skaven simulator, would love some sound effects and more levels!
Thank you :) I will be adding more levels and hopefully sounds in 3 weeks.
I like the concept. The gameplay is simple but interesting. I would have wished to have other food items with different effect. Maybe one that reduces the radius again.
It feels like sometimes the you won screen appears randomly and when you start the game with try again, your starting position is too close to a human and you loose one life without being able to do anything about it.
Maybe something to visualize how much is left to do until you win would be nice. Like a counter or a bar that fills up as you go.
Overall well done and keep going :)
New item types are in the upcoming updates :)
Also, I have identified the bug with the win screen and fixed that.
Wish I could upload the fix now, but have to wait until after the game jam :'(
Thank you <3
