  • GDD It feels very short - given it is 3 pages. I would love to see some images for inspiration and images from the game, so I can see what art styles and game mechanics that ya were going for. Perhaps having an game mechanic explanation summary and an minimum viable product sections would be good to added too. Game The main menu looks simple, which is not a bad thing. However when I am clicking on the tutorial, the text pop up as an overlay without an background, which makes it harder to read the text. I would love to see some options / settings. I found a bug, which is if ya are in the tutorial menu and then click on the play button, the game starts without the boat and the player.

Tell us about your game!
In a place where shadows have lost their form and have turned to a liquid that resembles ink. This ink tends to have harmful properties and drains life from those it touches.
Simply slashing at enemies doesn't hurt them.
However, you happen to have just the perfect kind of sword to deal with this predicament.
You'll have to channel your shadow through your sword to hurt them back.

Extra Notes
This is the first game I have ever made and I didn't have much prior experience going into the jam other than general programming knowledge. I installed and started learning GameMaker and Aseprite like a day after the jam started and pretty much took on this small project with goal of making something and learning these tools and related skills. It's a pretty unfinished, crappy game, but I'm still happy with the effort I made.
Note- I know there are no sound effects, I ran short on time.
Another Note- Thanks for checking out my game

Very nice for a first game! I liked the visuals and wish the player and fish were bigger. I encountered a bug after trying to play from the tutorial, as well as some UI scaling/positioning issues when entering and exiting full-screen mode. Also found the health and sword sometimes seem to get half as wide when losing and starting again. Good luck in your game-making journey!
