  • I think this could be a fun game in time. I would add some cost to the different elements so it's easier to make an informed decision. a short tutorial also would have been nice

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
yes

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
YEEESSS!!! xD

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
It is now! Phew... almost forgot

Tell us about your game!
The player spawn in a bubble of light, surrounded by darkness. From the darkness monsters spawn, aiming to destroy everything and anything. The player must use defensive towers to fight against the endless onslaught of enemies. The player must grow alchemical plants and harvest them for their resources. The plants have 4 stages of growth, and is harvestable from the 2nd stage, though the longer you wait the better and more abundant the harvest. Using the resources from the plants the player uses alchemy to construct and program defensive towers. The towers can be programmed with 3 different parameters: [Element], [Projectile type] and an optional [Impact effect]. Each parameters needs its own unique resource. The shadow monsters (of which there are 2) will try and destroy everything the player builds, with their end goal being to destroy the large obelisk at the centre of the map. The monsters come in waves, growing in numbers and in health pool after each successfully defeated wave.

Extra Notes
Me and my friend found out about this game jam 3 hours before it started. And thanks to the rule of the game having to be able to run on the browser, we had to try and learn an entirely new game engine. We settled on Godot, which we fell in love with Immediately. Safe to say we have successfully joined the Godot cult now xD. But seriously it was a lot of fun. Second of which I (AdmiralGrey) had to try and learn pixel art for the first time, I usually only work with 3D art, so having to build aseprite and learn how to draw pixel art was quite the challenge. This game jam pushed me and my friend to the LIMITS. We are VERY proud of what we accomplished with this game as it will technically be our first properly finished FUNCTIONAL game that we ever submitted for a game jam. We hope that you enjoy.

PS. Thor is my hero, role model and god. Hope he lives forever and keeps being the amazing and awesome deity that he is! For the FERRET KINGDOM!!! Amen.

I don't typically like games like this, but I could get into this one. Having to place towers strategically while also trying to manage resources and plant flowers was actually really fun. It's an interesting genre combination that works really well!

A tutorial I think would be a great addition. It took a bit to figure out what to do, but I did get it figured out.

I think if you were to keep building upon this and keep it going, it would be phenomenal! I already enjoy it, and it could only get better from here. The fact that you learned about the jam just before it started and learned a new engine just to export this to web is impressive! Keep it going guys! Extremely well done!

A bit hard to understand how to optimise at the start but really fun. Impressive also to know that you just discovered Godot !
