  • you have a nice basis for what could be a fun game here, but sadly I can't seem to pick up stuff? it only happened once and I didn't seem to be able to do anything after that. art looks nice and I love the intro images.

Top-Down puzzle game, keyboard + mouse controls.
Play as Willow B, a young witch who is just getting into alchemy. Meet Bweirdo, a floating beard who knows his stuff. Use ingredients found in your surroundings to create potions that interact with light in the environment.

Extra Notes
"Bweirdo" was initially just a cursor to make grabbing ingredients more intuitive. For a while he was just the default Godot icon.svg

Really cool intro cinematic. I like the animation and the characters you've made.

Once you get into game it is very unclear of what you are actually meant to be doing. The game really needs some kind of tutorial, hints or tool tips.  I'd like to have played more but I had no idea what the aim was or what the things I picked up were, or what they did.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that XD

If it helps, you pick up the ingredient for the vine potion from the weird blue thing on the ground, and you can then put a vine potion on any of the green bush things. A vine grows from the spot, and grows only toward the nearest light. You can walk on the vines. Your goal in the first level is to cross the river. In the second level, there are what look light red flowers; those are the ingredient for a fire potion. Throw the potion, and if it touches an area of light, it will become a flame. Just don’t burn the vine you just crossed, or you’ll be softlocked and have to refresh the game.

Honestly we just didn’t have quite enough time to add a tutorial, but that’ll definitely be on our to-do list if we decide to continue the project after the jam. Thanks for trying it out, though!
