  • The game plays really well, good intro level, the pixel-art works, though I wished it was a bit more colorful the colors chosen work for the game created. The weakest part if the theme. Shadow doesn't come to pass since there is nothing to uncover. At least not in the demo and the limited time span. As well for alchemy, just slapping the alchemy theme on the upgrade system and call it done is very unintuitive. Nevertheless a good game, that I would like to see more work on.

Always love a nice straight to the point tutorial, always appreciate it. The movement combat is simple but effective, and the filter applied to the game really sets it apart from other platformers.

Really like how your description is in character as well.

Great work!

Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback!

Really cool theme and I really like the old tv filter you put on the screen. I don't know why but at one I glitched through the floor and got stuck, but after restarting I was able to play just fine. Really cool game!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah the CRT filter really adds to the atmosphere I was going with for the game. Yeah I've heard from a couple of my friends that they've managed to clip through the walls/floor so it must have been a bug to do with the collisions. I think that one thing I might do different next time is change how I implement the physics as I think this may be what causes the game to load so slowly at the start, and is probably over-complicating the experience. Thanks for the feedback anyway though!

A clear introductory tutorial and really interesting storyline. The visuals and music together create an eery multi-dimensional vibe and the LUMON acronym is really clever!

Developer

Thank you!! <3

The writing and story are great! And the tutorial level was designed well to teach you to the controls.

It took a while to load for me after hitting the start button, and the first time it seemed like the game was running behind the introductory screen without it going away? But after refreshing and getting distracted by something else, the game ran just fine.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! This is my first game jam so it's all been a learning experience for me, and unfortunately I think that I tried to cram too many features into the game that I didn't have time to polish and fix some recurring issues. Next time I'll prioritise a single mechanic/concept so that I can make the game as functional as possible!
