I was really determined to get to a positive ratio, and finally got it at 56-55. At one point I got a streak of 7 in a row and felt like a god. But those far away boxes are tough!
I'm impressed that anyone can make anything playable at all in that short amount of time, but you got in a lot of details, including sound and environment.I like the barrels and scarecrow and falling leaves and leafy floor all giving autumn vibes.
The unreasonable amount of satisfaction I got when I discovered I could click on multiple overlapping trees at once... :) And then clicking the little plants to harvest leaves felt rewarding too, as they're faster and easier than the trees.
Love the colors and how the leaves animate toward you after you chop down a tree, then animate in the leafsphere UI. And my cute li'l character with my autumn outfit and hair.
This is so beautiful! I had some difficulty getting to the leaves on the edges, because my mouse would go off the game area. But once I managed to get the leaves out of the corners, I could relax and make my leaf pile.
It was a really wonderful surprise when my best friend came running for my pile, the first time. Somehow, with the game being small on my screen, I hadn't seen that it was a dog. I thought I was helping out an older neighbor or something. What a joyful moment it brought me :)
Thank you for this font! I used it in this game: https://i-like-snacks.itch.io/find-your-autumn-aura
This is so appealing, I love the scenery and sound and how the art bits come together in the boba cup. I had fun trying to figure out what each ingredient is, and noticing and picking up on more of the hints in the dialogue as I played. There's a lot of polish in this game, especially given the time constraints.
I definitely would have served more customers if they came in. This seems like a fun one to play alongside friends, to see if two brains are better than one when it comes to trying different ingredients.
I figured out Goblin and Invisible Man, I'll trade my secrets with anyone who figured out a different customer...
This is a cool idea, I love the design and the art. Just flipping through the pages is fun.
When I try to cut out a piece, it automatically switches to the collage page almost instantly after I start moving my mouse (Macbook, chrome). But I found that if I draw a very quick loop I can sometimes complete it in time, so it became a challenging fast-paced mouse circle drawing game for me, which was also fun.
Here is my masterpiece:
This is amazing. I was totally not expecting the leaves to pile up like that. At first I was just enjoying the charming character art and animations. The variety and life to the falling leaf animations is so well done, and chasing after one as it shifts momentum feels true to life. But I experienced true wonder as the falling leaves grew to a dramatic intensity and started to pile up! It made for a very cool moment.
I thought I would get tired of clicking before too long... then I discovered holding down the mouse button. The rhythm of holding to pick up, and then reclicking after collecting all the full grown flowers, is very meditative, and before long I found myself sipping on my tea with one hand while completely in the flow. Picking up a bunch of flowers in one fell swoop is very satisfying, especially with the sound effects.
Both full screen and the non-fullscreen embedded version worked fine for me in chrome on my macbook.
My best score is 33. The difficulty sure ramps up fast!
I got some chaotic magic moments where I was flying through the air dodging and snacking as chestnuts and spikes came flying past, making full use of the speed and freedom of the jump motion, and somehow made it safely back to land feeling invincible and powerful.
The art is charming, that snack sound effect is used perfectly, and most importantly the title rhymes :D
Beautiful aura! I can see you discovered some of the hidden options to get it just right :)
Candy corn is a popular fall candy in the United States, where a lot of corn gets harvested in the fall. It's a fondant shaped like little corn kernels of yellow, orange, and white, and they're mostly made of corn sugar syrup. They're too sweet for me, but I love the way a bowl of them looks!
I don't understand how you get something like this done in this short an amount of time. This is so smooth and nostalgic.
I love the kid's room with the little cardboard cities set up everywhere. George is beautiful and iconic; the modeling/texture looks so very cardboard. The drone sfx are subtle and effective, without overpowering the cute music with its childhood vibes. The controls were intuitive enough once I figured out all the buttons, and I even could start to get fancy trying to fling packages where I wanted them to go (which... ended with a lot of packages on the floor.)
This is so surreal. At first I was just enjoying wandering around finding the surprising variety of things to pick up in the local woods, vibing with the music and enjoying the satisfying pickup sound effect. Then I found the crafty workshop table and figured out how to use my items with a nice handmade feel. But when I saw the bodies come to life, for the first time, talking and animated? How wondrous!
I'm so impressed how your team managed to bring together so many elements in such a short time.
I hope my spirits like their new bodies.
Holy moly mushroom on a cat, do I want to play more of this game.
The visuals are so exquisite I was mad there wasn't a fullscreen button to appreciate them fully. The sound design and visuals working together with the functionality for the reality switching tab has such perfect vibes. Like, the texture to the platformer music has a realness to its instrumental timbre that matches the felt visuals, and switching to the background conversations is a transition that stays in the texture of reality, so that transitioning back and forth feels surreal but not random.
And then the reality sounds have cat meows, voices talking about felting, then about the game... It's just so beautiful. Cat has travelled to get here. Art art art.
This is so cute! The art for the plushies is adorable and the animation for the way they bounce around and wiggle is so perfect. I like the detail of the little hanging stars that scroll by in the background.
I felt a little bad sending some of them away to moon land, but there were too many for me to take care of at once...
I love this. I am a connoisseur of sticker games so I clicked on this right away.
It took a bit to get used to the controls, but as the game progressed my skills grew and I could smoothly stamp around a shaped border using the scroll wheel, left click hold, and right click, all working together to create that perfect cut.
I sometimes found myself wishing I could finish cutting a sticker to my own satisfaction, even after the game decided it was good enough, but then that became part of the gameplay. It's fun to try to have the last cut be a big chunk so that sticker completion doesn't trigger before I want it to.
With the art, sound, story, and music too, I'm very impressed how much you got done in so little time, good work team!
I played a lot of Arkanoid as a kid. So an autumn leaf themed brick breaker with old school style and lofi definitely works for me, to capture the nostalgic aura of autumn.
The art is lovely, combining retro visual style with modern design sensibilities. I just love the idea of making the bricks be autumn leaves!
But it's really the sound that does it for me. The rain sound effects patter perfectly. The background SFX are still playing as I type this, and it's quite pleasant. And the music fits the vibe so thoughtfully. The use of the sharp 4 gives tension and then soothes it through repetition, and the timbre feels fresh and natural and right for autumn.
Definitely a vibe, right here!
The graphic design on this is really nice!
I appreciate the detail that for the horse drawing examples, there's three different art styles and matching names for each. Clyde totally looks like a Clyde. And the hoof coming in on the side of the next page is another great detail, like it's there to roll dice and steal hay.
The brush texture in the background printed light enough in B&W to not be an ink hog, yet is still visible enough to make the borders of the zine clear so that I could easily trim the edges with a paper cutter.
I've got a game night where we often spend a lot of time messing around drawing silly things, and this would be a good one for that group. I want to see everyone's horses and have them steal hay from each other.
Also hooray for rhyming titles :)
