  • This game was pretty fun. The tutorial needs to be tuned up a bit to make it faster between instruction and playing. The one question I'm left with is -- is there a reason to not use "fire strike echo"? Seems pretty OP all the time. I'm sure there is... but it wasn't presented to the player why to not use a certain ability. You got a neat game here. Keep at it!

Incantation is an action tower defense game where you cast spells in order to defend yourself from the shadows.

Controls

Move - 1, 2, 3, 4 to teleport between lanes
Move up - Tab
Move down - Shift
Cast Spells - Type keywords and hit "enter." Try typing "strike" or "protect"
Elemental augments will be revealed as you play the game. All spells are unlocked at the start, so if you can guess the element then you can use it. Try typing "fire strike" or "fire protect"

General augments can be cast before or after the full element + base spell. For example, slow strike and strike slow both work. Similarly, "slow fire strike" and "fire strike slow" will both work.
Discover more elements and augments to transform your spells to win the game.

Extra Notes
Thank you for the game jam! It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot.

The game's text and and look and feel is all very coherent and nice. I played the tutorial and it was good but i thought it took a little bit too long for enemies to spawn. Also, after the tutorial I played one more minute and had to quit because not enough was being thrown at me and i was typing strike over and over. Also the game took a super long time on the initial load.

Still you've got a nice foundation for a game here. Get more player feedback, implement more mechanics and I think you can have something really nice. Really good job! keep making games!
