  • It is a very unique take on the classical game, Break out. The execution is really interesting. As the mechanics and the camera turns can be complicated, the game is definitely not accessible for everyone as it might be difficult for some with motion sickness to play it. Even when control of the game is very simple, instructions would help a lot. Some music would definitely benefit the game. It would help the mood and environment. Over all, it is done quite well nonetheless with the time limit. I hope this was a learning experience, and I am looking forward to more games from you!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Breakout meets flight sim, planned on being a roguelike in the future.
Story is a WIP, but the vague idea of a jailbreak/escaping a sort of pinball machine is the current plan, heavily inspired by the original "plot" of breakout, although the dev graphics don't quite match this at the moment
Controls for turning are WASD/Arrow keys, or the left stick on a controller

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Assuming this is for the theme part? I think playing as the ball in a breakout inspired game is about as close as you can get to being the weapon in it. Especially so with the original game's lore in mind, where the ball represents a ball and chain being used to break the player out of prison

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
How the camera controls feel; its my biggest concern for the concept as a whole.
Any feedback on improving how it feels while bouncing would also be highly appreciated

Nice concept and fun execution!

Really cool concept! Would love to see this idea fleshed out even more. The only major issue I ran into was the game being a bit disorientating.

That’s definitely the main thing to tweak lol, current plan is to have objectives put markers on the screen to point you in the right direction, and to have the screen gradually rotate back to level when you end up upside down, a bit like how it works in the Island Flyover game in Wii Sports Resort, but I ran out of time to do those for the jam
