  • Cloud Borne is a traditional tower defense with a twist, allowing the player the ability to inhabit a tower and attack from it manually. For the theme You are the Weapon, the game doesn't quite meet the requirements as towers auto-fire. Having the forced requirement of moving between the towers to attack with the different weapon types adds a time and skill constraint to the game that just placing the towers and having them shoot obviates. I would recommend differentiating the tower graphics in the buy menu a bit more as it was not clear what tower was being purchased between cannon & archer, but otherwise the systems worked great. I experienced no bugs or issues either placing or firing any of the towers, monster AI & health worked as expected, controls of moving between towers and attacking were very smooth. Had a great old time shooting the zombies and skeletons! Very good GDD, the idea and design for the game was clearly laid out and implemented as described. Overall good job, it was a fun playthrough!

Summarise your game!
Cloud Borne is an economy based tower defence game where defeating waves of enemies while increasing your money earnings and expanding your tower capacity is the goal.
The story is loose allowing for us to expand on it later but leaves plenty up to the audiences imagination as well for them to fill in the gaps. WASD to move between Towers, Click Plots to buy more Towers, Move mouse and click to shoot.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Our game fits the theme by the player being the energy that imbues each turret with their power, buffing it and taking control of it; becoming the weapon.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Nothing in particular! We're all beginner game Devs in this group so we don't expect to make it too far but please be nice :3

The intro was fantastic. The game was pretty fun though I quickly ran out of space to expand. It would have been interesting if the choice of which tower to directly control was more strategic, as it is it sort of feels like it doesn't matter so long as it's one of the ranged kind.

I like the tower defense gameplay.  I'm not sure how it fits the theme tough.  If I had a suggestion I would have an option to speed up time.

Thanks for playing, we're planning on continuing to work on this game in the future so a speed up mechanic could be a neat idea! cause ur totally right that this version does take a little time to play haha. We tried to fit the theme by 'your character' being the energy that powers up each turret! That's what the glowing blue effect is on each tower when you control it.
