- Wielded: Weapon of Legend was an interesting auto-battler and I found it to fit the theme well-enough, although the operative difference between playing as a weapon and playing as a character within the context of this game was not so much. I did find it quite funny when my first wielder died (because I chose the 'Tilted' upgrade) and he was replaced by a new, less bad wielder. Failure felt funny, which is a huge positive. The game lacked music, which I find to be a big part of the experience in low-animation auto-battlers such as this. Adding ambience, VO, sound effects, and a musical score would elevate the experience immensely. The art felt unique, yet familiar to what was meant to be shown. Thank you very much for this submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.

Summarise your game!
An autobattler game where you play as a sentient weapon, wielded by different adventurers. Each level unfolds from your perspective as you face off against various monsters. After each victory, you choose an upgrade that enhances your weapon and modifies its name—e.g., "Fiery" + "Sword." Winning advances you to the next tier, while losing sends you back few tiers, where a new adventurer picks you up.
Press Enter to progress.
Left-click to select upgrades.
Hover over upgrades for flavour text.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are literally the weapon, you must help your adventurer by dealing damage and keeping them alive. If they die, oh well, I'm sure someone else will pick you up as loot... right?
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Please give particular attention to the artist's (ABluSkittle) work, everything has been hand drawn from scratch (including the icons and upgrades) and in such a short time. I can't stress this enough.

I can see why you're asking for special attention to be given to the art. It really is great! My own submission is very much "developer" art 😅.
I liked the concept and the very literal interpretation of the theme! It feels like a game that could have a lot of potential for further advancement and storytelling!
