  • Your GDD could of benefited from added visuals and colors. It was also missing development timeline as well as future planning, but the parts that were included were fully flushed and well written. As for the game itself, yes it's lacking all forms of sound as you mentioned, but ignoring that, the game is quite interesting to play, there's no ability animation, but the progress path is flushed nicely. There were some grammatical errors (I think?) where after killing an enemy I was awarded Essence but in the talent tree, the cost of upgrades was presented as XP (instead of essence or conversly, the essence should of been XP, or PP as described in GDD). The art of cute and unique and I think that overall you did a great job with the game's mechanics.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Soul Sword is a game where you become an intelligent magic weapon. As you're used to kill things you gain more abilities and powers to help or hinder your bearer.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In Soul Sword you become the weapon. Gameplay doesn't really start until you become the weapon. The RPG mechanics are how the sword improves and how it influences the creatures it carries.

The amount of skills and abilities in this is impressive! I got stuck at one point where two dialogues just bounced back and forth, not sure if that is just how far you got or what, but this is a good foundation!

I was just looking at it. Looks like there might be a bug near the end if you enter with guide and don’t yet have IFF.
