Nice visuals! I included it in my PowerPoint Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

So sad I can't play it on my PowerPoints 2007 and 2010, but pocking into first few scenes accessible without macros made deeply haunting impression! It looks so dark and mysterious...

From what I've seen:

Title screen: wow it moves
Setup: "sci-fi-best" classic terminal interface
Sound: ~ambience~
UI: Point&Click goodness
Everything: wow it moves
Troubleshooting: exists

Top quote: "Paramedic: Redundant" (dunno just like how it sounds)

Sorry, we tried (in vein) to work around the bugs in PPT 2010, but in the end we had to prioritise finishing/polishing the actual gameplay.
If you ever end up grabbing a free trial of the newer PPT versions we'd love to hear your thoughts :)

I'd tried this before, and as I've said - amazing effort to have such a game in powerpoint. It's really intricate, with a lot of things to examine and do, and it's really impressive how well it looks. Point and click games are not really one of my favorite genres, so I got quite frustrated after getting stuck last time, but I gave it another try! Took me really long to realize that I should do something with the scar, I actually started browing through the slides to get a hint before that made sense to me.

Honestly, after playing and progressing the second time I'm even more impressed - this is so huge! It's really, really impressive.

I'm afraid point and click games are really not my type of thing, so I don't think I'll finish it, but even if it's not something for me, this is just incredibly well made. Must have taken a lot of time and effort!

Well done :)

Cheers! Thank you for the generous feedback. We're glad you gave it another go, and enjoyed it; even if point-and-click games aren't your cup of tea :)

I had the fortune to be one of the testers for this game. Growing up in the 90s, I played many of the genres best during my formative years.

The game has clear influences from many titles during that period, say Myst, or even Blade Runner. It even reminds me in places of a more modern title like Subsurface Circular.

Early on I was quickly impressed just how much was achieved within the limitations of PowerPoint, in such a quick timeframe.

The story was intriguing and had me wanting to play a sequel.

Cheers Rhys X2M, your testing went above and beyond. Really appreciate it!

Afterlife is a well-woven story and has the best design I have ever seen in a PowerPoint. All interactive elements affect all the story and the puzzles are well-balanced. Well done!
