What style of retro game were you going for? (Year/Era/Console/etc)
I think it looks like atari)

Graphics were good, sound was good. Controls... too floaty, and is hard to see where you are going to land when you jump.
Man that tune is a blast, I really loved the music got me so pumped to restart all over even if I happened to fall for some cheap death with floaty jumps as @xenological pointed out and small range vision.
But the tone of it and the personality make for something I'll come back and try to beat! Well done
I apologize for misleading you, but the music is not mine, but was taken from free sources, I put a file inside the folder with the game where I took the music, but apparently it was stupid, I corrected the description a little bit
This is really cute, I love the design of the characters, and how the protagonist holds onto their hat when falling, nice touch! I did feel like the controls felt pretty floaty, with the jump and fall speed both feeling slow, and it was sometimes hard to see where you were jumping to, especially when jumping down onto a lower platform, since there's no way to see down there, you kind of have to do it blindly and hope you don't die. All in all, this is pretty good though!
