This is a really neat system for a game! It is pretty confusing at first, but I think with a tutorial that slowly introduces the different Essis, you could have a seriously good game :)
I did realize that it would likely be confusing at first, and I found it hard to explain concepts without having a fully baked in tutorial, but alas I didn't have much time to do so, but it will be on my list of things to fix and add as I make more updates to this game.
No worries! Tutorials are DIFFICULT, even for simple games. It's not something I'd expect for a game jam submission, but it would be necessary if you move forwards with the game
