Please see Teal's play-through video, as well as her review of the game in the video description:
Thank you for playing the game and your review at the end, I appreciate it :) I hope to do a lot better next time and learn a lot more as I move forward in making games. Thank you again!
Hello! I played your game! Although I've only played for the first hour. I got up to the part after exploring the forest and you enter a town with a large library. I can definitely see this game with replayability options since you can choose who you play as at the beginning.
One bug I might have encountered was that you can't really run from battles, since the roaming monsters will place you into battle right away after. If there was a way to make invincibility frames for your party or have the monster stay in place for a while as the players run away from it, I think that could fix it.
There's one more bug I encountered, which I think you just forgot to set a movement route for. When you pick the third character, the cat girl, and say "no" she ends up staying in that spot instead of getting back in line. This might make the game freeze if a player were to reselect her and say "no" multiple times.
With what I've played so far, I do like what you've done. The narrative is natural enough that I can get an understanding of who each character is.
I do like what you have going so far and I'd like to see where you'll be going with it! I think the last suggestion I can make is to balance the gear/spells/battles a little better to make things more even for the players. (also do the monsters respawn? It felt like they did but I couldn't tell, they just seemed to keep appearing out of nowhere!)
Hi! Thank you so so much! All of those bugs I am aware of and am in the process of working out the kinks ^.^ Unfortunately I can't do any updates until after the Jam of course, so for now they'll have to remain. I just wanted to let you know that I do know about them :D But thank you so much for leaving a kind review and thank you so so much for playing! I haven't gotten the chance to play yours yet, but I am in the process of playing through what I can of the submissions. I remember Sin's stream of yours and really liked what I saw too. The story and layout were all well crafted ^.^
In addition, I do know my balancing needs work xD (>.<) So that's going to be one of the main things I work on while I revamp the game :) And yup, the monsters do respawn. I'm going to be tinkering with their settings too and may even just put them on a solid route instead of chasing after the player. ^.^
Thank you again so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed it (despite the many many flaws! I know I have a lot... Sin broke it so much on their playthrough LOL (I mean... a lot, it was embarrassing >.<) But I look forward to learning from all of that and making it better ^.^
Hey there played your game! Here's my video on it! Here's my socials for the thing I mention at the end of the video. Thanks again for rating and playing my game!

Oh my goodness! Wow, thank you so so much! I am literally floored xD (in a good way!) I did not expect that offer at the end (I *may* have cried....) Anyway! Thank you thank you a million times over. Between your review and Sin's playthrough I have an even better idea on what needs to be improved, what I'm lacking, and all of that. I will definitely be reaching out to you on Discord! Mine is the same as my username here (san the 'Sueng' part). Thank you again! <3
So, I think you already know this, but... we broke your game quite a bit. Lots of bugs, multiple soft locks, the no returns are potential hardlocks (you want to have your player save before entering regardless of their choice and disable saves in the areas that can cause a hardlock). I recommend you also add a save point before choosing your character.
Definitely rebalance your skills. Most of them are extremely weak except for that one combo I was using and the heals, which were really powerful and far beyond what you need for the game. You did also have that one skill that heals instead of dealing damage and can be used outside of battle.
Definitely double check your events and switches. I looked at your things and you don't need to have both a switch and a key item both activated. You can use either instead of both. Also, the reason why the problem happens is the exit from the city to the forest turns on the messenger switch.
Thank you again so much! I really appreciate all of this advice :) I will definitely do my best to fix up everything. I look forward to watching more streams, but do be sure to look after yourself first okay? Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Oh, and the healing skills were definitely not the default, but did use the default formula. However, that default formula was designed for a game where you reach much higher levels and thus would have much higher stats.
Just a quick comment here while I'm awake! (And in case no one has seen the new devLog regarding this)
Both versions should (should!) be exactly the same. I had a minor (major...) freak out moment and did a quick last minute fix. Then couldn't remember if I actually DID the minor fix and saved it... then couldn't figure out if it downloaded/zipped correctly... and omg I'm a mess.
Anyway! It shouldn't matter which one is chosen to download and play/judge :) Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Siryn
