How did you choose to implement the Theme: Journey to the Underworld?
I decided to interpret the theme as a place, in our version of underworld, it is where lost souls gather.
Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
1 - Bring Them Back To Life: The protagonist attempts to rescue his beloved and return to the land of the living, while the antagonist attempts to resurrect the person he loves.
2 - The Gatekeeper: The 4 Guardians serve as guardians of Gilgamesh's gate and each must be shown the appropriate strength to make them submit to the protagonist.
3 - Pass Beyond the Threshold: At the beginning of the game, the goddess Athena takes the protagonist to the underworld.

This was cool! I see what you were going for! The story was straight to the point. The only major issue I had was, and I wasn't sure if it was on purpose or not but I ran into an issue where if I used the Flame Weapon? I think it was called? If I used that spell after it was over I was no longer able to use the attack button. But other than that I don't think I ran into any major bugs.
To me this gave the vibe of like, practicing with a new medium. Something fun, digestible to practice balance and puzzle crafting and in that measure I think it worked really well. The maps all look really nice and made sense. I liked how many different layers there were to the maps and it felt very classic Pokemon to work up to the central boss.
Not perfectly balanced for sure, I'm no expert. I appreciated that we leveled SO quickly haha it made up for how devastatingly weak I felt at first. I admit I didn't get to the end, I am sorry but this feels like I'd need to level level and I have a lot of games I want to crank through for these jams. I think all the plugins worked well and all the extra things added to the battles looked cool and cohesive as well - oh I loved the items bobbing around!! Yeah, that was a very cool unexpected detail.
