How did you choose to implement the Theme: Emperor's Tyranny in your game?
I used the theme “Emperor Tyranny” in a more abstract way. The “empress” who tyrannizes Patricia is a mythical creature called Nachtalb and stands for the growing depression. The snowboarder Pattricia had a sports accident that prevents her from continuing to practice the sport. As a result, she gradually becomes more and more depressed and even commits suicide.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
I have not included any optional themes.

A fun and quirky game you made here!

I love the chess puzzles at the start - simple, yet well executed. I did however find it a tad jarring when I was forced into a fight like that - I think this game's design is much better suited to being story driven with puzzle and riddle elements powering the main gameplay element. The battles ended up feeling a little out of place and unnecessary.

Overall I did find it a fun and unique game experience. Kudos for making your own assets too, I know it's not easy and takes a lot of effort. Thanks for making the game and sharing with us.

I thought it was a pretty interesting game with a good story ^^ I've never seen RPG Maker used like this before. I know what it's like to struggle with depression so I feel for the main character, though I wasn't sure how things were going to go with one of the characters! Pretty cool use of the engine.

I had a chance to play your game. I really liked the artwork and sprites, really nice use of colors too! I always admire devs that make their own stuff. The bedroom scene was great and you used it really well to convey the character without overcomplicating stuff. I’d love to see some more dialogue to flesh out the main villain, as it didn’t really felt menacing, but I understand the time constraints.

I did found quite a few hiccups with the engine use, normal for a short dev period, but that you should really take care of, as they may make it difficult for people to play: The chess pieces freeze the game when colliding with anything. This is most likely due to a checked “Wait for Movement” box in the Move route event. Simply unchecking them should fix it. Also, one of the exit events in the “hands/eyes/etc.” puzzle (right side) yields “wrong” no matter the combination, while the other works as intended.

Overall, a really nice effort with solid storytelling and puzzles. Good job!
