A Question about the Jam itself...

I debated whether to post this here or on your discord and settled on here. Are Paid Assets allowed (provided, of course, that we have properly licensing, etc.) or must these be created at the time of the jam? (e.g. graphics, sound effects, music, etc.)  Additionally, assuming we can use assets, do you need a list of those at the time of submission?

Also, is following the theme 100% required or is it merely a suggestion?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi!

In the interest of giving developers as much freedom as possible for the jam, you can use whatever assets are available to you as long as they are licensed or available to the public. No need to list them out.

The theme is not at all required, just a fun addition to make the jam more cohesive.

Thank you for the post - as this is the first edition of this jam, I'm still working out some of the kinks. I'll be sure to update the main page to reflect your questions. I hope you'll participate and have fun doing so!

All the best,
CG

I am making a game in the end time-scenario. But it is hard to find assets. Can I take the assets of "Fallout 1"? They are free available at www.spriters-resource.com

I would say no, spriters resource is game ripped assets that you don't technically have the rights to, it's fine for fangames or derivitave work, however it isn't ok to use for monetary gain or a jam like this.

Sorry...
