  • Cool aesthetic and a nice tight gameplay loop. The game seemed to stutter badly right in the middle of jumping between platforms and that made it a bit frustrating to play. The music was a bit repetitive in an annoying way but the sound when stepping on ducks was a good bit of feedback for the player. A nice middle-of-the-road entry in to this jam and I hope you've had an overall good experience!

Good game simple and fun, good leaderboard system too! Congrats

Thanks!

Pros: Really fun, addicting game. It's simple, but fun to play, and the overall idea is pretty good. You also have the best leaderboard system I've seen so far and according to another one of your comments, you rushed it, so well done on that! The sound is also decent.

Cons: The ZIP's name is "DontSepOnTheDuck!". WHY?!?!? Jokes aside, I like the gameplay, but avoiding the ducks can feel very luck based at times. Sometimes there can be virtually no way to avoid a duck before the screen reaches you which can feel very cheap. The world also feels very barren and the aesthetics could use some improvement.

Thanks for the feedback! True, I could have focused more on the overall aesthetic and gameplay of the game. I finished the project at around midnight and was very tired when I wrote the name for the file. It bothers me too, trust me.

Haha, that's fair enough. Game Jams can be very stressful(but still fun!) after all.

Hi, I downloaded your game but am not able to run the exe file.  I'm on a Mac.

Developer (1 edit)

It only works on windows, as the icon next to the download button says. Thanks for trying it out!

Nice little game =D Managed to score the current first place with 195!

I liked :
- Classic gameplay that is a good choice for a scoring game
- Graphics are cute
- Music that although being a bit repetitive, doesn't gets to your head too much
- Good implementation of the theme as a causality principle, that wasn't easy =)

If I have to find improvable things, I'd say :
- The colision with the bottom of the platforms killed me more than once. I'd expect them to be solid only when falling on them from above
- How far you'll go depends a bit too much on the luck you have with the level generation. Too much platforms to the right of each other and to much duck spawning on their left? You're dead. A wise man once said me "procedural generation is a replacement for game designing. A good procedural generation should take as good decision as would a good game designer" =)
- The game could use a overall polishing. Using default fonts to write text as in the leaderboard often give a feeling of quickly-made (not that is isn't normal for a 72h gamejam, but it can be fought)

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I had to rush the leaderboard system because I realised that it was a requirement on the third day of the jam.  Nice score too! I will certainly try to beat it :)

I don't know if it's a problem on my end but I get a "UnityPlayer.dll not found" error whenever I try to run the program. :/

Developer(+1)

I am aware of this problem. I have now fixed it. Sorry for the trouble!

Nice! The game is very satisfying and intuitive to play. I find it amusing you can't step on the ducks, but you can push them off cliffs with no repercussions. Got a score of 300, beat it if you can

Developer

True, I found it best to do that so the player can choose between jumping over the ducks or pushing them off,  which takes more time in some situations but is still better because it doesn't give any karma. Thanks for playing my game! :)

Great game! It’s hard until you get the hang of it, but by then you step on a duck which makes it harder once again. Also, the online leaderboard is a nice thing to have. Definitely worth to try, more addictive than one could expect.
