I loved this, cant wait to see what else you brings to the table.

Indie Horror is my First Love, and this is doing it right!

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.

Oh thank god, I got through it without that thing getting me (If I just keep looking at the wall there is nothing there, NOTHING THERE!). I managed to get to an end I think, there was a thanks for playing, - beyond that my heart can only handle that once. For keeping constant tension, and continually dashing my hopes of being able to remain on linear, open spaces off the ground, I have to give full marks for the horror.

Fun moment from my playthrough: Which root should I take? Sees a shadowy figure casually turning a corner out of view on the building next door... UP UP up up UP UP UP!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I always love hearing about people's horrifying experiences playing my games. I promise I'm a really nice person in real life, and I'm very empathetic. But when it comes to horror, I just LOVE scaring people in the most sadistic way. Yes, you beat it. There's only one ending, and without careful analysis, and detailed observation of the last two rooms, the ending is likely very confusing. I may post a detailed explanation on Discord so it'll make more sense to everyone. Most people aren't willing to pay attention to the small details when they're in fear of getting slaughtered, lol. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Wish I could've watched you play it!

Did you create the music yourself? or where can I find the credits?

edit: nvm just saw the credits at the end of the game, nice work!

Developer(+1)

Sure did! I like to challenge myself with creating everything from the ground up. I learn so much every jam. It's a lot of extra work, but the time constraints really force me to not be a perfectionist, which is a daily struggle for me. Thanks for checking it out!

Oh the music had me SPOOPED!! Very scary!

Developer

Thanks! Did you beat it by chance? I had to update it because the first version had a variable I messed up that made it almost impossible. It's fixed now! Just curious.

Actually no I got too spooked, I'm definitely giving it another play through! XP

Developer

Awesome! I actually love to hear that people can't play my games because they're too scary. That's what I'm going for. Anyway, I'd love for you to beat it and tell me what you think the riddle means, and what the story is. From the one game of yours that I played, I feel like you'd appreciate the ending, and likely be able to figure it out.

I've finished it! Thank god you didn't have a limit on the sprint lol. That said I played through a couple times to get the words the voice says in the end(though it changes?). Well (SPOILERS)as far as I can tell the 4th time I waltz into the bathroom the voice says"You know that she deserved this." Believe that the "Two lines" are the pregnancy test? Other on the plane ticket? c: My best guess is that the two blood stains on the bed are the two people that have cheated. And that you've gone and kill both then yourself in the bathtub. This being some limbo/afterlife. Didn't read the street signs so may have missed any meaning in there but too busy getting the hell out of dodge for that lol! Very neat! ^^

Developer

*SPOILERS*

You've  ALMOST got it! It's actually saying "You know that you deserve this".  Every item in that room has an intentional significance, and is meant to tell the story in a certain order. I'll give you a hint: the sequence for the items is 1) briefcase/plane ticket (notice the X) 2) victims in the bed 3) pills (benzodiazepine) 4) pregnancy test 5) bath tub/razor blade. If you just think through what each thing could represent in that order, you'll probably have it. But you already got about 80% of it. You figured out what the two lines of life were, but what were the two lines of death? And lastly, the street signs are the easter egg :)

Great analysis! Thanks for sharing. I'll be sure to do the same for yours when I play it!

Alright, I kept dying at this but beyond my inability to escape the damn monster I thought this was very good. Music and atmosphere really helped to make me feel the horror of it, and even knowing how the monster looked like after the first time, meeting it was still pretty disturbing. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Did you by chance play version 1.0 or 1.1? I accidently made the game borderline impossible by mistyping a variable, so I went back and fixed it. It should be totally beatable now if you get the updated version!

Hey, I was just wondering since this is a UE4 game, if you'd be willing or able to post a linux version.

Developer(+1)

Sure, I can do that!

Developer(+1)

So I went out of town right after I uploaded the game, but I'll be sure to get this uploaded soon as I'm back home! I'll let you know when it's up.

Linux version is uploaded!
