Very cool! The core mechanic was well communicated and the simplicity of it really added to the overall experience. Not seeing the monsters made things more tense while I was waiting for them to pass. Also aesthetically top notch, great work on the art! I agree with another comment here, some kind of throwable would add some depth if you felt like expanding this concept. Great job completing the project!
It's cute a concept! Couldn't finish it, didn't have the patience. But, thought it was nifty.
I didn't manage to get more than 2 keys cos I'm very impatient xD Any games that require me to be stealthy I will just fail at, haha. I think it's a really cool idea though! Not being able to see the creatures makes them more creepy, and the fact that you have to be very careful with the sound you make while moving + picking up keys is neat :3 Feels pretty tense!
I remember watching The Lost World: Jurassic Park when I was way too young for it, and being terrified by the scene where the raptors are hunting the people in the tall grass. This game brings back that same terror. Being tracked by predators you can't see, but they can find you easily. And it juxtaposes with the simple, almost peaceful visuals very well. Great job!
Great game! I love A Quiet Place and I loved how you incorporated the mood of the film into it! Maybe I played The Last Of Us a lot this year, but while I was playing The Tall Grass I really wanted to have an object to throw and distract the monsters. Would it be interesting to give the player a throwable item? Even if it is just a single object and which, when throwing, would make enemies faster and more alert? It could be something to help in times of "certain death" (and I died a lot hahaha), but it would also bring a consequence to the player, so the decision to throw or not the item would always be tense. Again, great game! Congratulations!
