There was some lovely stuff here! There's a high level of polish in this game, and it felt like polish with a purpose. The game felt like a unified experience with a definite sense of atmosphere: I had a clear idea of when, where, and possibly who I was. The environmental storytelling, the puzzles, and the hints of the events that led to the game's story gave the game a surprising amount of tension for its length.
I agree with what some of the others have said, in that it would be great to see more! It feels like you could get a lot of story, a lot of atmosphere and a lot of HORROR out of a longer version, if you keep working on this after the jam. Well done!
Thanks for playing and for your comments!! 😊
I only had a few small problems with the interface when playing with a chest lock. That was on the downside ;). About the ending of the game - I thought it's the part of the experience "when light went down" so I had the thrill moment anyway :).
Atmosphere is so great, reminds me somehow Nomad the Omikron Soul (probably also because of the BGM) where I had the same feeling of just hanging around in a room, checking some items, playing music and just being in a place, in a game world :).
Thank you very much for your comments, I'm glad you liked it!
As usual, BlurredGames proves to us that it is possible to make a AAA videogame alone. The frustration of seeing the end come is all the greater when the immersion in this Amnesia inspired universe is successful. The sets, the lights, the music, the photos, the texts, ... everything is done to arouse anxiety. A game which makes hope that BlurredGames releases soon a complete game, specially a new opus of Amnesia on its own. Bravo again.
Thank you very much for your words, I really appreciate it!😊
I'll have to talk to Frictional Games about an Amnesia spin-off 😜
The setting and premise are super interesting, and the presentation is fantastic as well. I was just disappointed by the length, there was quite a story being told here that ended too quickly for me.
Thank you very much for playing and for your comment!
Yes, it's true that it's very short... 😔
Well no need for the sad face, "too short" is the best complaint you can get about a game!
This 'room escape'-esque game has a surprising amount of depth, harnessing some environmental storytelling and puzzles into the mix. The art is absolutely gorgeous and I love how you've integrated mixed-media such as old Victorian-era graphics to add to the setting. It's brilliant that the game has a story behind it and this is brought out with letters, articles, and in-game objects.
I think the only feedback I can give is that with a 3D game that has such polish and a very ambitious concept behind it...I'd love to see more! The culture of the Industrial Revolution era and the idea that machines are unknown, untamed, and dangerous is a good niche. I think there's a creative wellspring still waiting to be fully struck with the whole "machine that needs people to eat to function" thing. But regardless it just illustrates that you've hit on some very good inspiration.
Thanks for submitting Artificial to the SCREAM MACHINE jam!

WOW! Thank you very much for your comment, it's always a pleasure to participate in your game jams! 😊
And yes, the story is much more extensive but I couldn't finish it completely... but I don't know if I'll continue it.
The main source of inspiration was Frankenstein, so... what could go wrong? 😈
I think that the puzzle was freaking awesome instead. Perhaps I am used to them, so an imbecille like me finished it like in five minutes. Also the only bugs were some light flashes, but I think it was my graphics card melting
Hahaha, thanks for playing and thanks for your comment! 😊
Couldn't figure out the puzzle, but the graphics and atmosphere were awesome, reminded me of amnesia.
Thank you very much for playing!😊
Yeah, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs was one of my inspirations.
Game looked great, liked the music too. The puzzle, got as far as figuring the dots but couldn't translate it to the lock. Fun experience overall!
Thanks for your kind words! 😊
I haven't been able to play your entry yet, but I'll do it for sure 😉
