- Hi Owen, Humbleness is essential in the industry to keep growing... Research + Development In this department I would advise you to make some deeper research on the materials you will be using for this project. Tutorials give a good base but are not good enough to get you the best result. Try to find references from the real world of wet / cold wood, of snowy rocks, of ice cliffs and replicate them using the knowledge you've gained. It would have been great to see what you also could design and concept personally. Technical / Workflow Great work on the technical aspect, the only thing I would pick up is the density of the topology used for the rocks. It is too high and could be lowered. Also you could have used Zbrush brushes for the sculpting pass as there are great ones for free. Creative Development I would say the main let down would be the modeling part. I think you could have spent more time sculpting those giant ice cliffs as they take this much space on your images. For the wood pieces you could have detailed those edges more, using the normal maps is not enough when you have long straight line. Keep in mind your bevels will define the property of you material, as it is, the wood models look like they are laser cut, of look like metal pieces. If you can guess the material of an object in greyscale, you are in a very good spot. I think you'd make a great technical artist. keep it up, stay humble.
