Hi. Friendly PSA to anyone, that while there is only a little over a week left in the jam, you can submit anything made in or for SGB -- custom assets included!
If you have some custom assets you've made and want to make available for free, this jam would give them decent starting exposure, and I'm sure they would be much appreciated. Even assets will get their own video by yours truly (probably more of a con than a pro ).
When I say custom assets, I mean anything:
-3D objects, such as buildings, signs, furniture, tabletop items, weapons, flowers, grass, insects, rocks, trees (you can NEVER have enough trees), statues, stuff that moves, stuff that doesn't move -- anything goes, but DO make sure it is sized appropriately and ready for immediate SGB usage!
-2D textures for tiles -- this one is very simple and we all love tiles! Whether dirt, grass, walls, floors, or tiles specifically made to be used as a top-down asset for a 2d game!
-2D sprites for monsters or characters! (if sprites, make sure they are formatted with the sprites facing proper directions -- you can't just import an RPG maker sprite you've made as-is)
-Other 2D graphics - UI graphics are sorely needed!
-Sound effects -- Bloops, blips and beeps made by you in a digital audio workstation of any kind would be AWESOME! And if someone can manage to name their files with all of the basic SGB SFX names, making it super easy to drop them in and replace the entire default library, they would be my heroes.
-voice acting! -- One day, I'd love to see a library of "hyahhh!"s, "ARRGH"s and "Oof!"s recorded by male, female, automata...that day could be today!
-music! -- composed something to be used for SGB? That's amazing, even if it's just one 30 second song! (Want to know how I'd make a video with just a single 30 second song clip? Go ahead...Make my day.)
One participant has already submitted some customized A-style assets. This is great and totally aligned with the spirit of the jam!
This is what it means...to GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND!
