Rating on graphics and audio

Hi!

I see the rules allow third-party asset packs to be bought (“You are free to source assets as long as it is credited”), but graphics and audio quality are also voting categories.

Don’t you think this rewards developers who can afford professionally-developed assets that could’ve been refined over the course of months or years before the jam started? And then doesn’t that penalise developers who make their own assets during the short run of the jam? Or have I misunderstood? Ta!

Hi Cariad!

The sources assets get taken into account when judging, and the only thing they get marked up for is usage rather than development.

If the game is made of mostly sourced assets the game will be marked down heavily based on how much is sourced.

Fab! Thanks for clarifying!
