This game is the definition of janky.
The concept is pretty cool, just get to the end. A quick plaforming time attack game. However, the jumping mechanics are kind of janky and many times I'm just jumping up on ledges and teleporting upwards and such.
One time I teleported from the ceiling to the bottom of the screen then back up. I appreciate the effort and its actually kind of a little bit fun, but its ghetto.
Once I beat the level (landed on the special tile) I tried to go backwards and the graphics glitched up and the game froze. Also if you just let the timer sit there, eventually it goes to a -27000 number or something then starts counted down.
I managed a score of 2940.
Hello, thank you for your comment. I understand your opinion.
The goal of the jam was to build a SNES game in 3 month, witch works on real hardware. The technic isn't easy. It was build to have a playable but simple SNES homebrew game. And I'm a beginner ;-) I did my best for the moment.
Thank you for playing. Good Score!
Yes, the very nature of making a game in a limited time makes for interesting results. But I actually like your game, I've actually tried learning the SNES's ASM and I only know just a little bit.
Also to get that score, I used a trick to teleport in the "zig zag" section. All I did was jump up and teleport to the bottom in that section for a quicker time.
Thank you for your submission! I tried the game several times but always failed at one jump and didn't make it in time, yet. But I'll keep trying :)
If you like to keep improving the game I guess the collision detection would make a lot of differences if you work on it.
I hope you keep on going with SNES development :)
Thank you for your feedback and the tips. I'll follow them. I try to get more experience in building SNES (and NES) games.
By the way: Because of the issues with the collision, you have to jump with face to the right at the last both platforms. When the rambler ist in the air, move to the left and jump to the hill at your right. Good look ;-)
I played this game for 15 minutes overall and I had quite a bit of fun with it. The gamplay is simple, but the score mechanics make you want to try over and over again. I also really liked that you can sit down and rest if you're tired, that was a nice touch. I noticed a few issues with the collision detection. Also, you can continue after reaching the end and even walk off screen to the right if you try hard enough. That didn't diminish my enjoyment of the game though. Thank you for your effort and I look forward to seeing what you can produce in the future!
Thank you for your words and tips. They're giving me much motivation fixing the problems and for other projects.
