I like this game a lot! I was surprised that it featured lots of accessibility options and even German Language. That's super cool that you managed to do it in time for Spooktober! I will probably go through the game again to check out the other choices, and to play it in German to test and improve my German.
I really like the characters' banter with each other as a tight-knit group, and it really makes me want to go exploring to go on an adventure. To me, it feels very nostalgic when I play this game like I'm reading young adult fiction again. I'm definitely curious to check out Lovewood now, and I hope to follow more of your work!
Awww thank you <3 I'm really glad to hear someone will get some use out of the German translation. It was something I mostly did to give translating a try, and to explore how it's implemented in Renpy. I figured it would be more interesting to people who want to practice German as a third language, so this is really cool :D
I love this VN! Short but fun. Sometimes you just crave a happy heart-warming adventure set during Halloween. The banter between the friends is lively, you can really tell from the dynamics that they're a tight group. I like the personalities of how we got the tough girl, the nerdier boys who can hide behind her when they're scared, and the non-binary newcomer kid.
The art is cute and amazing! I love how many poses each character has, the large amount of background/CGs you have drawn to depict the action and that they reflect back when you pick a different action prompt. Overall, sounds and special effects are well-timed and I agree with everyone who says that this is extremely animated. As for me it looks like the storyboard of a cartoon with scenes that are captured through intricate cinematography (such as the camera angles).
Thank you, that is some really high praise! I'm so glad the group dynamics work well, it was fun to write different personalities bouncing off of each other <3
This is so amazing and cute that I will have to play Lovewood soon
I played this last night but was too sleepy to leave a comment >.< My own fault for staying up late when I'm supposed to be getting more sleep now that the deadline has passed, haha.
I hope this doesn't count as a spoiler but I loved it near the beginning when Mrs Salai popped out just because it's so cool to see sprite positioning with perspective like that when you don't see it that often outside of CGs :3 It was really effective and just made me smile cos I love little details like that.
Considering I was sat there thinking the ol' ghost horse was beautiful, I wasn't expecting what happened next, haha.
But it was so pretty and cuuuute ^-^ And the thank you image at the end, just utterly adorable :3
It was a real visual treat with all the colour and warmth, and I loved how sort of animated everything looked.
I haven't played Lovewood, so I figured I'd go check out the page you linked to have a peek at the characters! It looks so wholesome ^-^
I would definitely say you can see the love that was put into the game!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it <3
This was really adorable!
I enjoyed playing it a lot. Short and sweet, and providing you with all the feels you could ever ask.
I was happy to see someone taking a similar theme to my own submission in the lessons you as the player learn. I don't want to spoil Fightwood, but I am pleased with how the story was told, and the lessons were taught.
This was a wonderful experience. Though I was left wishing there was more. That is positive and negative. I am very interested in seeing more, but I was also left with saying, "Is that all? Come on. I need more!"
The art style was cute, though I did have difficulty telling who was speaking at some points. That doesn't take too much away from the story. I was able to click back and double-check.
The transitions with effects were very strong. I also enjoyed how interactive the background was.
In closing, Frightwood is a wonderful experience with fantastic art and a carefully crafted story, though a bit short for my tastes.
9/10 (Rated 5 Stars.)
Short. Sweet. Beautifully drawn. Fitting music. And well polished. Looks like a 10/10 to me! Fantastic job!"
