I love the stalker theme. Some of the stuff is so creepy, like the jar of chewed bubble gum. You do a really great gradual reveal where she starts off seeming fine and gradually everything feels more and more off. I like the idea of using quicktime events--not many other games in this jam have done that and it makes yours stand out well. And I love images like her popping her head under the bed! The weak point is the background art--the parts that are built of basic shapes like spheres and cylinders stick out against the trees and stuff that are more complex.

Thank you for playing our game!  And thank you for the feedback. That is something I didn't notice when developing the backgrounds, so thanks for the insight!

Be sure to check out my entry as well! https://itch.io/jam/spooktober-vn-jam-2022/rate/1690696

I'm so conflicted right now cos I was enjoying the story (got multiple endings, but not all of them yet) and I'm absolutely in love with those extremely creepy animations, hehe. They're so darn cool <3 And of course, Rebecca's voice acting is awesome as always :3

But... I'm stuck T_T haha. On the quick time stuff where you have to hit the right letter to untie yourself. I gave it a full 10 mins, but I just can't do it, so I've given up for now cos it was starting to frustrate me >.< I managed to get the first press a couple of times, but the second one even when I thought I'd pressed it in time still timed out, and I don't know if there's a third press or more required after that. I'm used to hitting buttons fast on a controller cos I play a lot of rhythm games, haha, but not so much on a keyboard, and especially doesn't help that I like to play VNs laying down in bed xD

I don't suppose there's a way to skip it that I missed? Because I'd really like to see the rest of the endings that I've not reached yet :3

I should probably point out that quick time stuff is one of my pet peeves in all video games, but especially in VNs, haha. So it's nothing against the game because they're done well and I know a lot of other people love stuff like that! It's just not for me x3 I think it's because I tend to play VNs just to read and relax, so I've never liked all that much in the way of additional gameplay elements cos they make it more awkward for me to enjoy them the way I personally like to read/play them (in bed at night with a laptop on my belly as if I'm reading a book xD)

Hi Marionnette. Thank you for playing the game. And indeed, Rebecca's voice acting is awesome. 😊 In the 2nd quick time event, keys are currently case sensitive. Lowercase letters are what being recognized right now. I apologize.  This is already on my backlog but haven't gotten back to it yet. We'll include it in the next update. Thank you!

Don't apologise cos there's nothing wrong with that :3 I think it's fine to have only lowercase accepted. My problem was that I wasn't fast enough, haha. I think it would be impossible to do on my laptop in bed because A, the laptop is an old potato, so anything requiring reaction time or speed = fail xD And B, laying down isn't exactly the best position to handle quick time events x3

I only mentioned it because I was enjoying playing, but then the difficulty of that particular quick time part forced me to stop. I might do better on my PC cos it's much faster than the potato and the keyboard is better :3 I just don't generally like sitting at my PC to play VNs is all. I know, I'm weirdly picky x3

I might have to try again on my PC though cos I would really like to see the parts of the story that I haven't read yet :3 I saw on the game page there was a bug that let you skip past the event that you fixed, and I thought, damn, if I had been faster to play this, I could've used the bug to skip it x3

Oh I see! I understand. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.  I'll definitely take the skip option into account next time since there're cases like this that still gets in despite thorough optimization efforts 😅. I'll see if I can include it in the next update.  Thanks for the feedback! Hope you finish it soon. 😁

The quick time events really surprised me! It added to the tense theme of the game. It was a nice yandere story! I especially like the hidden diary notes for the endings.
